Child Therapist helping children ages 2.5 to 12 to navigate big emotions and behaviour challenges using play and relationship

My name is Nadia. I’m a parent myself, and a Registered Social Worker (since 2017), and I’ve been working with children and their families for over 15 years.
I provide in-home intensive child therapy in Cambridge and surrounding cities for children 2.5-12 years of age. I focus on supporting families who are experiencing a high level of life disruption due to challenging behaviours or anxiety. My intensive approach is designed to condense months of child psychotherapy into 2 full days to support families at home, right where challenges are happening.

Intensive child therapy offers the depth and consistency needed to create meaningful change in a shorter time frame. Rather than stretching sessions out week by week, intensives allow the child, parent, and therapist to stay immersed in the work—building safety, trust, and momentum that can be hard to maintain with traditional scheduling.
From a clinical standpoint, this model supports faster emotional regulation, stronger attachment, and more integrated learning. Children benefit from sustained time to explore feelings and practice new skills, while parents receive hands-on coaching and immediate feedback they can apply right away at home. The structure reduces the “stop-start” pattern common in weekly therapy, allowing families to experience progress that feels tangible and lasting.
In-home intensives also provide the advantage of working in the child’s natural environment, where behaviours and dynamics unfold authentically. This allows for more accurate observation, real-time intervention, and collaborative problem-solving that fits each family’s daily life.
I blend play and collaborative problem-solving to help your family dive into change in just two intensive days—what might otherwise take months.
I work intensively with only a few families at a time so you get my full attention and care.
Strategies are taught in your child's real world - your home. This helps things translate into daily life.

I offer a free meet-and-greet to allow you to ask any questions you might have before jumping in. Book here.

When you are ready to start the process, we will meet for a 55-minute (virtual or in-clinic) parent meeting. This meeting is a chance for you to ask questions, and for me to learn about your family to help plan the intensive intervention. Book here.

I will come to you for two in-home full-day intensive appointments (one week apart) involving a combination of parent counselling and parent-child interventions. Parents learn and practice empathic responses and co-regulation during therapeutic playtimes as well as how to facilitate collaborative problem solving conversations with their child. Learn more.

Parents receive a detailed report at the end of the treatment program with a step-by-step plan to support their child.

Yes! Services are offered by a Registered Social Worker (RSW).
For intensive therapy, sessions can generally be submitted under the parent and/or child's mental health benefits since both are participating in the treatment. I can provide a pre-determination letter if you would like to explore advanced approval with your benefit company.
Unfortunately, no. But we will cover a lot of ground in this program. The goal of this program is to position you, the parent(s), to feel confident and equipped in how to support your child responsively (when a challenging moment is happening) and pro-actively (to prevent challenging moments from happening in the first place). You will leave the program with experiential learning and a concrete plan of action to support your child. While many families find that their child does not require standard therapy after this program, this cannot be guaranteed as each child is unique.
Yes. This service is well-suited for children with a range of emotional and behavioral exceptionalities, including ADHD, ODD, Autism and Anxiety. My approach is highly individualized to determine what particular skills/differences are contributing to high-intensity moments, and to work from a neuro-affirming stance to collaboratively navigate these with you and your child. Helping you and your child to embrace, navigate, and support their unique qualities is at the heart of what I do.
Even if your child does not have a diagnosis, we will work together to identify any skill gaps that might be contributing to challenging episodes.
No. As a Registered Social Worker, I am unable to provide diagnostic assessments. The report provided is not diagnostic in nature. It is designed to highlight areas where your child may experience challenges related to cognitive skills and emotional regulation. The aim is to provide meaningful insights and practical strategies to support your child's development and well-being.
That's great! I would love to connect to discuss how I can support you and your little one. Please schedule a free meet and greet to learn more. Or, if you are ready to jump in, feel free to skip ahead and schedule your Parent Intake appointment. I would love to get started.
I come to you! If you live within 1.5 hours of Cambridge, Ontario, let's get started.
